The ancient Silk Road has unquestionably great influence on history. It started in Chang'an( present Xian ) in the east, branched in Dunhuang for north and south road, and reunited in Kashgar, extending to Rome, Italy in the west, India in the south and Russia in the north. Now the road boasts a unique combination of western and eastern civilization, numerous great mosques, grottoes, snow-capped mountains, grassland and oasis.
